Nigeria Archery Federation (NAFED)
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the Nigeria Archery Federation (NAFED) — the recognized governing body responsible for the development, regulation, and promotion of archery in Nigeria.
Archery is one of the oldest sports known to humanity, with a history spanning thousands of years when it served as an essential tool for hunting, warfare, and survival. Over time, it has evolved into a modern competitive sport practiced across the globe. Today, archery is governed internationally by the World Archery (WA) Federation and is proudly featured as a core sport at the Olympic Games, where athletes demonstrate extraordinary levels of concentration, discipline, and precision.
In Nigeria, the development of the sport is championed by the Nigeria Archery Federation. The sport continues to expand participation and promote excellence across the country. Since its establishment, the Federation has focused on grassroots development, talent identification, training of coaches and technical officials, and the preparation of athletes for regional and international competitions.
As a result, Nigeria has made commendable progress with over 20 State Archery affiliates and over 26 privately owned Archery Clubs and Academies across the country. The Military and Paramilitary institutions have taken centre stage with established Associations for the Nigeria Army, Nigeria Navy, Nigeria Airforce, Nigeria Police, Nigeria Civil Defence, and Nigeria Immigration Archery Associations — all of which have included Archery in their annual sports festivals.
The Nigeria Archery Federation remains committed to promoting excellence, integrity, inclusiveness, and sportsmanship in the development of archery across the nation. We invite athletes, coaches, officials, corporate partners, and sports enthusiasts to explore our website, learn more about our programs, and join us in advancing the growth of archery in Nigeria.
"Together, we will continue to nurture talent, inspire youth participation, and proudly represent Nigeria in archery competitions around the world."
Mohammed. B. Abdullahi — President, NAFED
